| My case may not be very extreme, but is very frusterating. I had laproscopic hernia repair on both left and right inguinal hernias in january. it is now may, and for the last 4-5 weeks I have fealt a definate lump that moves when I cough or sneeze, and creeps its way down to the base of my penis when I stand . I can not feel it when lying down. I went back to the surgeons office and was told its just fluid, but the bulge was not present when lying down. I sincerely dont want to go back for surgery, but feel that after weeks of rest, and trying to heal this thing back up my options are getting fewer. I got a flat pad support for insurence while being active, and im not sure if it has healped or not. just wanted to see how common this is, sounds like it may be minor, but its driving me nuts! |

an ultrasound to confirm. You could ask the surgeon who did the repair to order an ultrasound, telling the surgeon it would ease your mind
Are you in pain, are your symptoms better after the procedure?
Best wishes |

| Yes the symtoms are somewhat better, although, there is a slight bulge after a day at work. The bulge in question will shoot downward when I cough or sneeze or bear down. It is less painfull than it is uncomfortable, but I have sharp twinges on a regular basis |
